Hi there, my life's mission is to help you, leaders, HR managers and workers to confidently build healthy team or workplace behaviours and attitudes (i.e., culture), and expertly spot and safely stop unhealthy online-offline conduct that you can elevate your engagement, innovation and performance ...faster! You can learn more about my personal 'why' here.
As an adult educator and thought leader with expertise in organisation social psychology, I also bring 25 years experience as a leader and manager in a variety of military (RAN), public and private work environments, during which time I was honored with two Australia Day awards and Outstanding Service medals, and a Merit award.
To my knowledge, my doctorate dissertation is the first known study into the rate and impact of workplace cyberbullying - and by extension face-to-face bullying and other dysfunctional conduct - on people and work cultures in the Australian public sector.
Among other things my research found that unhealthy online communication fostered dysfunctional face-to-face interactions and vice versa, which if ignored or uninterrupted, would escalate over time into increasingly toxic communications. In these cases, these unhealthy interactions developed into dysfunctional team or organisation climate and culture (i.e., behaviours, attitudes, values, beliefs, etc.) that reduced people's job satisfaction, creativity and engagement. Over time, these unhealthy interactions seriously affected people's mental-physical health and well-being, and reduced overall productivity.
At the conclusion of my research, I was very honored to be recognised and nominated for an Outstanding PhD Thesis award and the Wigglesworth OHS award.
I have presented to, and continue to contribute to, various domestic and international HR, L&D, Health and Safety publications, including the UK's online Safety Health Professional magazine, and have presented to the Australia's National Council's Workplace Social Media Index and Disability Employment Conference.
