As an Adult Educator and Thought Leader with expertise in organisational social psychology, I also bring 25 years experience in military, public and private work environment, during which time I was honored with two Australia Day and Outstanding Service medals, and a Merit award.
My dissertation (QUT,Faculty of Ed.) is the first known study into the rate and impact of workplace cyberbullying - and by extension face-to-face bullying - on people and work cultures in the Australian public sector.
Among other things my research found that negative or thoughtless cyber communication fostered bad face-to-face interactions, which escalated into toxic on- and off-line workplace behaviours. If normalised, this led to reduced job satisfaction, performance and well-being (i.e.,mental health) and poor workplace culture and productivity.
At the conclusion of my research, I was very honored to be nominated for an Outstanding PhD Thesis award and the Wigglesworth Occupational, Health and Safety award.
